How I can help
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving us struggling to cope with difficult emotions, relationships, or life events. Counselling provides a confidential and supportive space where you can explore your experiences, gain greater self-understanding, and work towards positive change.
I work with adults experiencing a range of issues, including:
- Anxiety and stress
- Depression and low mood
- Low self-esteem and self-confidence
- Relationship and family difficulties
- Bereavement and loss
- Trauma and difficult life experiences
- Work-related stress and burnout
- Life transitions and personal change
- Feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Identity, self-discovery, and personal growth
Alongside my general practice, I have a specialist interest in neurodiversity and work in a neurodiversity-affirming way, supporting autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent clients to explore their experiences within a safe and understanding environment.
As an integrative counsellor, I recognise that every individual is unique. I tailor my approach to suit your needs, drawing on different therapeutic perspectives to support you in a way that feels right for you.
You do not need to be in crisis to seek counselling. Sometimes having a dedicated space to reflect, process your thoughts and feelings, and feel truly heard can make a significant difference.
Together, we can explore the challenges you are facing, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and work towards greater clarity, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.
How I work
As an integrative counsellor, I believe that every person is unique and that therapy should reflect this. Rather than working from a single approach, I draw on different therapeutic models to meet your individual needs, helping you explore difficulties, gain insight, and move towards positive change. Together, we can find a way of working that feels comfortable, supportive, and right for you.
Person-Centred Therapy
At the heart of my work is the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Person-centred therapy offers a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about your experiences and feelings. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, I aim to help you develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and confidence in your own ability to navigate life's challenges.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Sometimes we can become stuck in patterns that no longer serve us, leading to anxiety, low mood, stress, or self-doubt. CBT can help identify these patterns and develop practical strategies to create positive change, both within therapy and in everyday life.
Gestalt Therapy
Gestalt therapy encourages greater awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in the present moment. It can help you notice patterns in the way you relate to yourself and others, while exploring how past experiences may still be affecting you today. As part of this approach, I may also use sand tray work, which offers a creative and non-verbal way to explore emotions, experiences, and aspects of your inner world that can sometimes be difficult to express through words alone.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy explores how early experiences, relationships, and unconscious processes can shape the way we think, feel, and behave in the present. By developing a deeper understanding of these influences, therapy can help uncover recurring patterns and support meaningful, lasting change.
Transactional Analysis (TA)
Transactional Analysis helps us understand how we communicate and relate to ourselves and others. It explores patterns of behaviour, beliefs, and relationship dynamics, helping to identify ways of interacting that may no longer be helpful. This approach can support greater self-awareness, healthier communication, and more fulfilling relationships.
My Integrative Approach
I don't believe that one therapeutic approach suits everyone. Some clients benefit from exploring past experiences, while others find it helpful to focus on present-day challenges or practical coping strategies. My integrative approach allows me to adapt our work together to your individual needs, creating a therapeutic experience that is collaborative, flexible, and centred around you. Whether you are seeking support through a difficult period, looking to understand yourself more deeply, or working towards personal growth, I will work alongside you at a pace that feels right for you.
Discover the Benefits of Walking Therapy
Sometimes the best conversations happen when we're moving. Walking Therapy offers a refreshing alternative to traditional counselling by combining the benefits of talking therapy with the calming effects of being outdoors.
Whether you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stressed, or simply finding life challenging, walking side by side in a peaceful natural setting can help you feel more relaxed and at ease. Many people find that walking makes it easier to open up, reflect on their thoughts, and gain new perspectives without the pressure of sitting face to face.
Sessions take place in carefully chosen outdoor locations, allowing you to enjoy fresh air, gentle movement, and the restorative qualities of nature while receiving professional therapeutic support. Together, we'll walk at a pace that feels comfortable for you, creating a safe, confidential, and supportive space where you can explore whatever is on your mind.
If you're looking for a different approach to counselling that nurtures both your emotional and physical wellbeing, Walking Therapy could be the right choice for you.
