Yvonne Wallace, 39, was told by a pal to try "hypnofertility" treatment after suffering two miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy and spending more than £20,000 on five attempts at IVF.

She underwent the unusual therapy, where people are hypnotised into believing they can fall pregnant. And just before she tried IVF for a sixth time she was told she'd concieved naturally.

Yesterday the art services manager, from Glasgow, said: "It's an absolute miracle. I'm so glad I pushed any doubts to the back of my mind.

"It just helped me to visualise how wonderful it would be to feel my tummy grow and bring a baby into the world.

"I've no way of knowing if it caused me to fall pregnant but it has to be more than coincidence."

Yvonne, who is due next month, decided to start trying for a baby soon after marrying her second husband David, 44, in November 2003.

She already had two sons, Callum, 13, and Daniel, 11, from her previous marriage and thought it would be easy.

But she had two miscarriages the following year and a horrifying ectopic pregnancy in 2005, while on holiday, in which she lost one of her fallopian tubes.

They began IVF treatment the following year but each of the five attempts ended in heartache.

Yvonne said: "It always ended the same - either it didn't take or we lost the foetus within a few months. It was devastating. Eventually she decided to try six sessions at Nurture Glasgow, learning breathing and relaxation exercises.

She said: "I was told that if you believe it, then what you want will happen. It sounds crazy but I absolutely believe it works."
