Sanna Anderson- Nutritional Therapist

Sanna is a Nutritional Therapist trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, a leading establishment in  the field of nutrition education. Sanna is a full member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), the professional body governing nutritional therapists.  Sanna spent the first 10 years of her career in the financial industry in the City enjoying the challenges of the corporate world. She has always been a keen cook and is passionate about good food, but it wasn't until experiencing the dramatic effects of a diet change on her own health that she realised the impact good nutrition can have on the quality of life.

Sanna has a special interest in stress related health problems, including digestive issues, chronic fatigue, anxiety and sleep problems.  Digestive problems, and particularly IBS, respond well to the nutritional therapy approach.  The source of the problem is usually a combination of long-term stressors which have created imbalances in the gut bacteria or reduced the digestive capacity.  Through biochemical testing, Sanna can help establish any physiological imbalances contributing to symptoms, and these can then be solved through dietary changes and appropriate short-term supplementation.  Hypnotherapy complements this approach, as it helps manage the stress response patterns.  The combination of the two approaches helps create a long-term solution to this chronic problem.

Chronic fatigue is another complex condition, often linked to long-term stress.  For the past two years, Sanna has been working at a Harley Street-based clinic specializing in treatment of ME/CFS, and is now making this expertise available locally.  Through nutritional therapy, Sanna can help establish the underlying risk factors that got you ill in the first place, and support sustainable recovery.

Nutritional therapy is about getting to the root of the problem and creating long-term solutions, not just about managing symptoms.  It can help you regain control of your health – it’s not the absence of illness, but presence of wellness that counts!
