Corporate Clients
...............................................................................................................................................................

Many companies and small business owners can experience similar transformational changes (to private clients) using my combined approach. Whether the changes need to affect the whole organisation, certain divisions, departments, teams or individuals, my approach can help you achieve significant improvement to your teams and ultimately your 'bottom line'.

Having worked in industry for many years, and more recently, in departments where human capital is top of the board's agenda, I understand the importance of developing efficiency, commitment and loyalty from employees. There's now a significant demand placed on employees to meet deadlines, cope with increased workloads and manage the stress that accompanies those pressures. We've also entered an era with a diminishing labour pool after years of low birth rates and an aging population. Many organisations now need to place significant resource in creating a well motivated, healthy, diverse and loyal workforce.

So where can coaching help?

Well around the whole organisation, to give you a few examples:

  • Sales teams
Sales teams can be more sales focused, goal orientated and ultimately have greater self belief in their own sales ability. This will have significant impact on revenue generation.
  • Management teams
Ensuring that managers are more focused on team effectiveness, have greater confidence in public speaking situations and are better at coping with stress or anxiety. Coaching and empowering business owners in the belief and delivery of their business objectives is crucial here.
  • Employees in general
Working with HR teams, Occupational Health Officers and in house health and fitness teams, this is perhaps one of the most significant areas as so much work can be done on improving health, coping with stress, trauma, personal effectiveness, gambling addictions, bullying, greater self belief and working with others.
  • Health issues ...
My work here targets several key areas:
  Smoking

Many organisations have banned smoking in the workplace ahead of government legislation coming into affect in July 2007 (Health Act 2006). This however, doesn't stop your workforce still smoking. Employees who still smoke still present the following issues/risks:

      - Indefinite amount of cigarette breaks possibly reducing the working day by an hour
      - Possible absence from work due to chest complaints/infections
      - Increased risk of death in service
      - Continued pressure on in-house occupational health services
      - Workforce being exposed to second hand smoke, which claims 500 lives per week (health select committee figures)
      - They are smoking cigarettes that contain 4000 toxins including arsenic and cyanide. At least 50 of these chemicals are carcinogenic
      - For further facts see: Key facts sheet
So by working with your employees (whether it's fully funded, or part funded by the employer or just advertised), it demonstrates a real commitment to employee welfare and health. It reduces absenteeism, increases productivity, provides a cleaner, fresher environment and promotes a good corporate image.

  Stress

This can have a big impact on the well being and productivity of staff and the organisation. In a recent survey 'Who's looking after our health?' 97% of senior HR professionals felt that stress was the biggest threat to the future health of the UK workforce. Major contributory factors included working longer hours and not taking enough holidays. Worrying statistics highlighted that more than a third of these HR professional felt that the health of the UK workforce would decline over the next 5-10 years. Stress costs the UK economy an estimated £3.7bn per year.

This can place significant pressure on dwindling numbers of Occupational Health professionals. As part of the raft of organisational provisions offered by employers like EAP's and OHA's; Coaching and Hypnotherapy can offer a complementary and safe approach to reducing or managing stress. It's an ideal opportunity to demonstrate the diverse commitment to staff wellbeing.
